I donated a photo session for a charity auction to help raise money for the John Henry Foundation. It is a foundation that provides medical support for young adults dealing with serious long-term mental illness. The auction was held at Bonne Vie Fitness in Aliso Viejo. This was my first time to Bonne Vie Fitness, and I was very impressed by the state of the art equipment and the knowledgeable & friendly staff. Bonne Vie Fitness is French for “good life”. They offer private one on one session, Pilates training on machines, yoga and Crossfit. My photo session that I donated had a bidding war on it. The winner is a young woman that is planning on taking a photo session with her parents for their Christmas card. I had never been to an auction and ended up bidding on 20 private Pilates lessons and Crossfit training. I got in to a bidding war, over Crossfit training, after the Pilates lessons went over my budget. It was fun! I got three months of Crossfit training that I started this week working out with Max!! It really focuses on core training. My goal is to get in to shape by summer time, do Crossfit training four times a week, one yoga class and hike once a week. I am feeling motivated and excited!!

Today, I got up early to go buy the OC Register because my photographs were being published along with an article, by Laylan Connelly, about the charming and rustic Crystal Cove Cottages in honor of Valentine’s Day. To my delight, I discovered the above photographs made the front page!!!! There is an online version of the story with two of my photographs:
http://beach.freedomblogging.com/2008/02/12/crystal-cove-romance-on-the-coast-plus-whats-your-story/#more-976
If you scroll over the first two images (those are mine) my name pops up. Read the article, too! It is a good tale of romance and memories.

This past Saturday was my first portrait session for a High School Senior. Her name is Gina and she is part of a set of triplets!! I will be photographing her brothers in the next two weeks. It was a dismal day with a forecast of rain but we got lucky, it did not rain until that evening. I used my new Gary Fong Flash Whale Tail Diffuser which gives the softest flattering light possible. It reduces vertical shadows. It is great for doing portraiture. I was really happy with the results of Gina’s session.

I took my new Nikon D-300 out for a drive!!! Its got over 52 focal points! The color is so vivid. This photograph came straight from the camera. I’m doing a portrait shoot this Saturday of a 17 year old girl for her High School Senior photos, and I can’t wait to use the new camera for portrait photography.

I’m very excited to be starting the year with a new look. I have a new web site for my portrait photography, Kathryn LeBoye Photography. Also, a new business card, and I’m grateful to Joy and Brian & the parents of Baby Carter and Claire for letting me use their images on my business card. I have so many new opportunities for this year in business. For Studio 656 Photography, we are a featured photographer at Wedding Compass. My portrait photography business, I just signed up with My Gym in Newport Beach to be their only photographer to advertise with them. My advertisement just came out in The Bump Guide for Orange County. This year is going to see much growth in my business and fulfillment in my life. I feel very blessed and grateful.
